The production of LINEN, from CHINA to NORMANDY

The organic linen used by MUJI in a selection of women’s clothing is currently produced in China, on the farms of the vast Xinjiang plateau in the northern Taklamakan desert at an altitude of 1800 meters. Given the limited quantity of organic linen, men’s garments are made with linen produced in Normandy, France.

MUJI works with local farmers to grow flax without chemical fertilizers or pesticides.

This wonderful natural fiber of vegetable origin, discovered over 10,000 years ago, is considered one of the finest fabrics. Soft, flexible and resistant the linen gives a pleasant sensation of freshness on the skin. MUJI, has learned well how to use it in its fashion collections, offering a summer line for men and women that gives a new lifestyle.
