MARYLING – Fall Winter 2022

Art and nature come together to create an immersive and powerful urban jungle in which the “Human Nature and Modernity” FW 2022-23 collection by MARYLING moves.

It is a desire for contact and fusion with the natural world, an eagerness to search for virgin spaces and environments in which artificial intervention reinterprets the ecosystem, becoming a celebration of beauty tout court in which the maison’s proposal is translated. In this collection, design and technology explore the transformations of nature and enhance them in garments capable of transmitting their emotional richness.

At the heart of its inspiration is the artistic universe of Philipp K. Smith with his installations of mirrors and lights that dress spaces with plays of reflections and also the environments of Dani Karavan, true environmental works in which nature plays an active part in the creative process. Its path pays homage to the fervent heroine Erin Brockovic whose style reflects her passionate spirit and is expressed in a palette of intense colors and prints that recall and sublimate the natural environment.

The colors of fall add vibrancy to color-block outfits and styles interrupted by special patterns, where shades of rust, mustard, moth green, and reddish brown are interposed with splashes of electric blue and magenta to make room for handmade prints inspired by floral wallpaper.

They are oversized images of upside-down trees in black and white: silhouettes of shrubs gathered in winter months and transferred to evening dresses that envelop the body with their softly tailored cuts that express energy in a real MARYLING way.

Wool, cashmere, and mohair trace the lines of a sartorial style — amplified by notes of mustard, rust, blue, and blush — that is unexpected and luminous, choosing new color combinations together with check prints and cable-knit wool motifs. The maison’s favorite looks include knee-length pleated printed silk skirts and soft, sensuous blouses that explore passion for an aesthetic style in technicolor inspired by art yet immersed in real life. It is fun, colorful, sophisticated and always, absolutely desirable like MARYLING.
