Loro Piana and Oscar winning film director Luc Jacquet proudly presented ‘Cashmere – The Origin of a Secret’

The first documentary in a trilogy of films celebrating Loro Piana’s renowned excellences: Cashmere, Vicuña and The Gift of Kings®. The premiere was held at MIFA 1862 Art Center in Shanghai, and included an immersive installation that took the guests inside the film epic landscapes.

The event took place in the presence of local politicians, socialites and celebrities such as Li Bingbing (Goodwill Ambassador of UNEP and Global Ambassador of WWF Earth Hour), Ai Tominaga, Stephen Fung and Jimin Han – along with Loro Piana’s CEO, Fabio d’Angelantonio, Pier Luigi Loro Piana, Luisa Loro Piana, and of course the ecologist and Academy Award winning director Luc Jacquet.

During the film, a live thirty-three-piece orchestra performed the original score for the film, created by Emmy nominated composer, Cyrille Aufort. The documentary paints a portrait of excellence found in extremes. Telling the story of the rare, raw fibres that have captivated the brand for over half a century, ‘Cashmere – The Origin of a Secret’ is a stunning homage to the tenacious spirit of the small, yet extremely resilient Capra hircus goats and their dedicated herders, as well as Loro Piana’s profound respect for nature’s most precious gifts.

After the screening, Loro Piana’s CEO, Fabio d’Angelantonio, Vice President, Pier Luigi Loro Piana, and Luc Jacquet took the stage to announce the recipients of ‘The Loro Piana Cashmere of the Year Award’; a prestigious tribute born to support and celebrate those who nurture the goats and harvest the rare fibres.
