Sweater vests have always been around, but when the preppy style started making headlines again a few years ago, you’d be forgiven for thinking it was another micro-trend that would dissipate as soon as it began. However, it seems that they aren’t going anywhere.
It’s a piece that can be worn all year round. During the summer months, commando-style made the sweater vest into a warm-weather staple, being worn as a knitted tank top. As the weather gets cooler, traditional styling over a shirt or a t-shirt makes for a strong statement and, once we hit winter, the same sweater vest becomes a layering piece to be worn under a jacket.
