The sneaker sphere is on fire right now, with the biggest of brands continuing to push boundaries with never before seen silhouettes and the reworking of much-loved classics. And it’s not only solo releases from the big hitters that are turning heads. This year we’ve already been treated to a deluge of collabs from brands across streetwear and fashion, coming together to create silhouettes that have both captivated and sometimes confused.
ASICS, adidas, Nike, New Balance, and PUMA might be considered the usual suspects when it comes to sneakers, but drops from these brands are often far from usual. We’ve scoured the internet for our pick of the hottest silhouettes from these five major players. Of course, among the more crazy kicks are the modern classics that have earned their place in any rotation. It’s all about balance.
ASICS

Once confined to the rotation of the runner, ASICS rode the wave of the technical trend in streetwear to cement its place as one of the hottest footwear brands around. The Kayano is currently one of streetwear’s most popular silhouettes, and a host of brands have knocked at the door of ASICS for a collab, from Awake NY to GmbH.
Nike

Understandably considered the king of kicks by many, Nike is relentless in its release of sick sneakers, many of which tend to end up on the lists of grail hunters. The original Shox silhouette changed the game 16 years ago, with a unique four pillar cushioning system and breathable qualities. This modern update leaves us in awe too.
The recently released Zoom X Vista Grind, with super chunky silhouette, is part of Nike Women’s Summer 2019 lineup.
New Balance

Father of the dad shoe, New Balance struck gold with the 990 series. One of 2019’s most in-demand kicks, the 990v5 is the latest in the series of the vintage rework. It’s a truly versatile shoe that can be (and has been) rocked by everyone from runway models to golf course caddies. For something a little more unique, check the M801AT.
Adidas

adidas is another sportswear giant that keeps coming up with the goods when it comes to coveted sneakers, with the brand’s classic silhouettes remaining as popular as its more modern editions. The Ozweego, with this pair coming in solar green, is a radical reworking of the ’90s silhouette.
If you like to keep it classic, you can never go wrong with the silhouette that needs no introduction, the Stan Smith.
PUMA

Sometimes overlooked in the footwear game, PUMA has dropped some serious heat in the sneaker department recently. One particular highlight is the “CELL Endura Rebound”, a revival of the brand’s ’90s classic, with a chunky silhouette that reflects the dadcore trend. We’re also big fans of PUMA’s collab with Chinatown Market, coming with an interchangeable PUMA Formstrip.
